About Us

Indigenous Matriarchs, LLC

Director: Britnee Nguyen

Vietnamese and Blackfeet (Amskapi Piikani) descendant

The Indigenous Matriarchs Research Initiative was founded as a platform to produce rigorous research and share resources on Indigenous women’s experiences in the workforce and the cultural and socioeconomic issues affecting them and their families. This initiative brings visibility to the shared experiences of Indigenous women and provides practical insights for employers and policymakers to better support them.

This work is informed by my positionality as a Vietnamese and Blackfeet (Amskapi Piikani) descendant and is guided by Indigenous-centered frameworks that emphasize research accountability and reciprocity through the return of research findings to Indigenous communities.

I am currently a PhD candidate in American Indian Studies at the University of Arizona.
